One day as a very tall man with spiky, silver hair called Mr. Lendamood was  traveling, he stopped by a town and noticed there was no emotion of any kind.  Seeing the need to help people here feel something, Mr. Lendamood decided to move into this town and open a store.

Deep inside the depths of an old, green-colored bank building, located in the town square, Mr. Lendamood opened his small store. The store was called Lend-A-Mood Emotions. Within the store there were various emotions stored in jars, shining a multitude of colors. These emotions were stewed and then brewed to life by the hands of Mr. Lendamood.

The store was set out to lend emotions to his customers. He would always remind each customer that each emotion would last only one day and no more.

Weeks passed, and word spread. Soon, everyone in town knew just what to do. If you wanted or needed an emotion, just go to the store and purchase one from Mr. Lendamood.

One day, a young girl named Cindy Lou came in, feeling torn about what to feel, for something shocking had happened. Her sister had died. A heavy loss, worthy of emotion, yet her own eyes stayed clear, she could not bring herself to cry.

Mr. Lendamood smiled as he greeted Cindy Lou, listening to her plight. When she finished, he passed her a bottle containing a blue liquid, promising it would make everything right.

"This dear is the emotion you need to buy. It is guaranteed to make you cry. Be warned though of what I say, "this emotion only lasts one day."

On the day of the funeral, Cindy Lou drank the potion and was able to cry. Tears of sadness flowed freely from her eyes. Grief surged as she recalled fond memories, at peace during the final goodbye.

A positive review was left for Mr. Lendamood. Days passed; two, three, then four. Soon a new customer, named Mr. Martin came into the store.

"Ah, Mr. Lendamood” he explained. “I must express. My wedding is tomorrow, and I'm under a lot of stress."

"Well, Mr. Martin, I have just what you need. Drink this bottle of happiness tomorrow and all the stress will flee. Be warned though of what I say, "this emotion only lasts one day."

Morning rose as the wedding day came. Mr. Martin drank the yellow potion down, and felt a smile grow on his face as he looked upon the beauty of his wife. His heart thumped excitedly as she walked down the aisle, barely stopping once she was at his side. Eyes met lovingly as their lips kissed. Afterward, Mr. Martin shouted for joy, declaring he had never been so happy in his life.

Mr. Lendamood, once again, succeeded in meeting his customers’ needs. He continued to lend out emotions from his store. Reminding each person, that the emotion only lasted one day and no more.

Always remember though, even when things are at their happiest hour, just one mood can turn things sour.

Mr. Storm came in, and Mr. Lendamood immediately sensed trouble on the rise. He could already guess which emotion this customer wanted to buy.

"My brother has stolen my money and my wife. I want a potion that will make me angry at him for life."

"As sorry as I am to hear your tale, that is one thing I will not sell. As I tell every customer that comes my way, every emotion only "lasts one day."

Not pleased with that answer, Mr. Storm pushed Mr. Lendamood, accidentally causing him to knock down a shelf, where various emotions sat. The force of the crash shattered the bottles and set the emotions free. The emotions took flight into the sky as they escaped the store, spreading to everybody in town.

With the loss of all his merchandise, Mr. Lendamood had no other choice, but to leave and close his shop down.

Before he left town however, Mr. Lendamood decided to give everyone a last piece of advice, which he hung up, posted on the door of his store. Turning his back, he walked away.
