Jack the pumpkin sat alone, in the field that was his home.
The moon up above shined an eerie light, as the bats screeched and flew deep into the night.
The wolves howled, and the gargoyles screamed.
The gravestones were singing. The vampires looked mean.
The ghosts moaned, and the floorboards creaked, as a lonely witch stepped out of her house to sweep.
While at work, she noticed Jack all alone in the field. Looking sad, with no scary purpose to fulfill.
Using her magic, she'd thought she'd give Jack a hand. By making him the scariest pumpkin in the land.
A light lit up inside of Jack, and made his face burn bright. Making the other creatures, scream and flee in fright.
Jack laughed at their fear, and admired his new gift. Joy replacing his previous rift.
The witch smiled at her deed, and went back in her house to say...
"Nothing better than a pumpkin to keep the monsters away!"
