Uh Oh Thief!

It was just another pleasant day at the Medicare Hospital. The birds outside were singing. Inside, nurses and doctors were speeding from room to room. Patients were coughing up a storm.

It was those same sounds, secretary Janet Wolf came in on every single day. This made her proud to be sitting at a desk, instead of working with one of the patients.

Hey, secretary work is just as exhausting as the things doctors and nurses do. You have to answer phone calls, type up papers, and keep everything well-organized. Most people would hate it, but Janet loved it! The reason why, was very simple, her chair!

The moment she sat down in her big, comfy, purple chair all the stress would fly away.

When she entered the Medicare building this morning, she walked over to the secretary desk, where she expected to see her chair.

Her eyes widened in horror when she saw the empty space. Her chair was gone!

Frantically, Janet started to look everywhere for her chair. She dove down the laundry chute to see if her chair had gotten mixed in with this morning\'s load of clothes. But it wasn\'t there!

She ransacked all the patients rooms to see if her chair had been given to one of them. But she couldn't find it!

She even checked outside to see if someone tried to bury her chair underground.

When the groundskeeper heard that someone was messing with his gardens. He went outside and yelled for Janet to stop!

He then had her fix up the patches of earth she had just tore up. It took a whole hour before the garden was repaired.

Dirty and tired, Janet returned to the hospital defeated.

"My chair is gone" thought Janet, sulkingly, " and I'll never see it again."

One of the nurses, Nurse Fox, approached Janet noticing the sad look on the secretary's face.

"What's wrong Janet?" asked Nurse Fox.

"Oh Lisa" cried Janet " my chair is gone!"

"No it isn't" said Nurse Fox, grabbing Janet's hand " come on, I'll show you where it is."

With that said, Nurse Fox led Janet all the way to the Operating Room. When the nurse opened the doors, Janet's mouth dropped open in surprise. For there, lying on the operating table, was the missing chair, surrounded by a dozen doctors.

Nurse Fox smiled when she saw her friend’s surprised face and explained to Janet...

"Your chair broke an axle early this morning. It will have to undergo surgery. It will take a few more hours in order to repair it. But don't worry, you'll be sitting in it again very soon."

Nurse Fox was true to her words, and three hours later, Janet was once again sitting comfortably back in her chair. The secretary was glad to have her old friend back. And she knew that nothing would ever separate her and her chair again.
